Body temperature are regulate and controlled by the thermoregulatory center in the anterior hypothalamus ( some stuff dekat our brain)
When kita kena infection, body immune system ni akan buat inflammatory reaction dan recruit all inflammatory cytokines (dlm body dia mcm askar ah nak bunuh2 pathogen/stuff yang asing dari badan kita)
So cytokines ni juga act on thermoregulatory center by increasing prostaglandin synthesis. Prostaglandin ni menyebabkan suhu badan kita naik. We, humans, interpret this as demam.
